Windows Movie Maker - Desktop Movie

Windows Movie Maker is a video editing program that brings lessons to life through video, sound, and pictures.  By integrating this tool into the curriculum, students become more motivated and involved and the material makes more sense.  For this assignment, I created an educational video to help kindergartners learn primary and secondary colors.  My video includes various visual images to help teach the colors and can be found on YouTube.  The process of creating the video involved developing PowerPoint slides with the images and importing the slides into Windows Movie Maker.  Once in the program, I added text, transitions, and effects and eventually imported sound.  Please click on the Desktop Movie link below or the video clip above to personally view my desktop movie.

While developing my movie, I realized this technology tool could be used in numerous ways by both students and teachers.  For example, teachers could develop desktop movies to introduce a new topic or review an area of study.  On the other hand, students could use such a resource (on an individual or group basis) to create a movie at the end of a unit to demonstrate what they have learned.
